About

Hello, I'm Julia.

I trained in pottery over three years at Harrow Art College, under a Japanese tutor whose way of working still shapes everything I make. Since then I've worked from my own studio in Pinner, with a wheel and a kiln, making stoneware and working in felt.

Most of what I make is about the senses: how a surface feels under your fingers, how light catches a glaze, the weight and warmth of a cup in your hands. I like teaching the same way. Less about rules, more about getting your hands in the clay.

I also work in a secondary school, so I'm used to young people and to keeping a room calm and safe.
